Daniel Röhn and Olena Nikulina
Collaborating for two years now, Daniel Röhn (violin) and Olena Nikulina (piano) have been performing various programs, the most recent being titled a “Century concert – 100 years ago”, which is set up in the style of how a violin recital actually looked in the good old black and white times and when it was normal to include a violin concerto.
Daniel Röhn is widely acclaimed as an outstanding violinists. He comes from a remarkable lineage of violinists: both his grandfather Erich Röhn and his father Andreas Röhn played an active part in shaping the unique German orchestral landscape as renowned concertmasters of the Berlin Philharmonic’s Furtwängler era, and the postwar Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Olena Nikulina is an accomplished classically trained pianist, who graduated in 1999 from the Donetsk State Conservatoire, Ukraine, with a Masters degree in pianoforte and accompaniment. She has performed extensively in Europe and the Middle East. Since moving to Canberra in 2006, she has continued as a soloist and four-hand pianist and accompanist as well as being acknowledged as a high-level piano teacher.
